What is KelatoLYTE?
KelatoLYTE is a scientifically formulated electrolyte replacer designed to mimic the composition of horse sweat.
How does it work?
Supplementation with KelatoLYTE will help to reduce the risk of dehydration and associated disorders such as poor performance, fatigue, muscle stiffness, colic and even death (in severe cases).
Horses require electrolyte replacement when they have been sweating, whether from:
- Work
- Travel
- Stress
- During hot, humid conditions

It is important to remember that electrolyte replacers are not only essential to replace the electrolytes lost in sweat, but they also encourage adequate water intake. We have all heard the adage “you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink”. There is a physiological explanation to this. When humans sweat, we lose more water than electrolytes in our sweat, causing a rise in blood sodium concentration. Sodium is thought to trigger the thirst response and we therefore feel the need to drink until fully rehydrated. Conversely, horses lose equal amounts of electrolytes and water in their sweat. The horse will get a slight rise in blood sodium concentration and will drink a little, but not enough to fully rehydrate. Hence, why they don’t feel the physiological need to drink even though they have sweated profusely.

Per kg:
- Sodium – 216.0g
- Chloride – 484.8g
- Potassium – 167.0g
- Magnesium – 16.9g
- Glucose – 92.0g
Directions for use
Top dress the horse’s feed according to the following directions:
- Light sweating – 30g
- Moderate sweating – 60g
- Heavy sweating – 90g
*Dose rates based on a 500kg horse.
Do NOT add KelatoLYTE to the horse’s drinking water.
For an isotonic drench, mix 60g of KelatoLYTE in 5L of water (12g per 1L). Always consult with your veterinarian before using an electrolyte drench.
An electrolyte paste can be formed by mixing 30g of KelatoLYTE with water or apple sauce. Electrolyte pastes should not be used on dehydrated horses or those refusing to drink.
*Always ensure the horse has access to fresh, clean water when supplementing with electrolytes.

We understand that sometimes you may need to return an item. To qualify for a refund, products must be in their original condition with tags attached, and proof of purchase must be provided.
- Refund Requests: Must be made within 14 days of delivery unless the product is faulty or recalled.
- Exchanges: Allowed up to 30 days from the delivery date.
Exclusions:
- Feed, vitamins, and medical items are non-returnable unless faulty or recalled.
- Special orders are not eligible for change-of-mind refunds or exchanges.
- Sale items are non-returnable unless faulty.
How to Return an Item:
Before sending a return, please contact us at info@saddleworlddevonport.com.au or submit a return request via your account. Once your request is processed, we will provide a return authorization number.
- You may arrange your own postage or opt for us to handle the return shipping, which will be deducted from your refund.
- Please note that if your order qualified for "Free Freight over $200," postage costs will be deducted from your refund if you make a return.
Important Notes:
- The original postage charge cannot be refunded unless the order contains incorrect or damaged products.
- Postage costs for returns of items that are not faulty or damaged are the customer's responsibility.
- Refunds will be processed to the original payment method used.
- Saddleworld Devonport cannot accept returns on earrings, underwear, horse supplements, or horse feed unless faulty.
- We are not responsible for items lost or damaged during return transit.
- Any Buy Now Pay Later payments used, the fee to us for your purchase will be deducted out of your refund.
